Insert the elbow into the rod hole. There is a tiny hole on the elbow for securing the R-clip. The upper section of the elbow does not have this small hole.
Thread the elbow’s bottom end through the metal buckle of the metal strap. Loosen the strap when tight.

Instruction
The inner extension rod slides down and gets stuck inside the outer tube
Unscrew the nut as shown in the picture
Unscrew the nut, turn the whole rod upside down so the inner rod slides out, then slide the rubber stopper to your desired position, and tighten the nut back up
